GTAccess Receive UK's First HR28 Hybrid

Business

26 November 2014

Midlands based access company GTAccess has recently taken delivery of the UK’s very first Height Rider 28 (HR28) Hybrid 4×4 from Milton Keynes based access platform manufacturer Niftylift.

The revolutionary new HR28 Hybrid, which is also the world’s largest electric mobile elevating work platform (MEWP), was delivered to GTAccess’ Bromsgrove depot and received by Jonathan Till, Managing Director of GTAccess.

This all-new Niftylift boom boasts one of the largest working envelopes in its class and is also the smallest and by far the lightest. The specification includes a 28m (92′) working height coupled with an impressive 19m (62′) of working outreach, and all from a chassis weighing just 14,500kg. This lower weight also offers the significant benefit that smaller more cost effective transportation to be used when moving the HR28.

Niftylift’s Tim Ward commented:

“For the first time a 90 foot plus machine will not need a ‘Low Loader’ to move it to site. With the right specification a 26 tonne truck can be used, offering the potential for huge cost savings for our customers.”

This picture shows Jonathan Till and Tim Ward on a very blustery day outside the new offices and workshop of GTA in Bromsgrove. This new 12,000 square foot facility is next door to their previous premises which were demolished to create more yard space.

Jon Till commented:

“I must admit it was quite emotional seeing the old place being knocked down, the old place was very good to us but ‘Tide and Time wait for no Man’ and we just outgrew it.”
