Job Description:
As the Health and Safety/Compliance Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health and safety across all aspects of our operations. Your role will involve developing and implementing robust health and safety policies, procedures, and systems to safeguard the well-being of our employees and ensure compliance with relevant regulations. You will conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections, providing guidance and support to staff to promote a culture of safety excellence. Additionally, you will liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and stakeholders to maintain compliance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
Provide guidance, training, and support to employees on health and safety matters, promoting a culture of safety awareness and responsibility.
Monitor and review health and safety performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and stakeholders to maintain compliance and resolve any health and safety issues or concerns.
Keep abreast of changes in health and safety legislation and best practices, ensuring that policies and procedures are updated accordingly.
Champion health and safety initiatives and campaigns to engage employees and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Requirements:
Proven experience in a health and safety management role, preferably within the construction or access equipment industry.
NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent qualification in occupational health and safety.
Thorough knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
Valid UK Driving Licence
