Community 22 December 2022 Share Share Share Share This time of year it’s easy to get caught up in the excesses of Christmas with food and drink aplenty. Here at GTAccess we have been collecting for local foodbanks who are supplying food and hot meals to local community members in need. With the cost of everything going up this year as well as other factors in the world affecting supplies, a record number of the population have turned to their local foodbanks this year. Between 2008/09 and 2020/21, the number of foodbank users increased in every year, from just under 26,000 to more than 2.56 million today.We actively encouraged all our employees across our 11 depots to bring in unwanted food and household items that could be donated to local foodbanks in their communities. The response has been fantastic and a lot of food parcels have been donated to various foodbanks.Please think of someone else this Christmas and help wherever you can.
