From GTAccess with LOVE…

As many people are aware, the daily news bulletins and stories emanating from war-torn Ukraine are full of tales of horror, anguish, and pure despair.

Forced into dealing with a war no-one expected, many people are suffering including children who are forced to either flee their homeland or live every day in fear of rocket attacks and air raids.

So faced with the prospect of a bleak Christmas, a time which is supposed to be of joy and happiness, the “Plant and Hire Aid Alliance” has decided to run a Children’s Christmas Appeal to collate as many used or new toys to be taken to the disadvantaged children of Ukraine.

One of the companies involved in the initiative is GTAccess, with its head office in Bromsgrove as well as depots throughout the UK. The company is one of the UK’s largest suppliers of powered access machinery with over 3000 machines available for hire and sale as well as offering a range of approved training courses.

The company has been very passionate about this appeal and have secured a fantastic amount of donations from customers and local businesses. Some of these businesses include Atlantic International, Chris Todd Electrical, inspHire, Gems TV, Jukes Insurance, Julie King Photography, Big Change, Tintwise Ltd and Hire Safe Solutions.

GTAccess has collectively raised over £5,000 through staff donating holiday days which the MD Jonathan Till converted to cash (plus 10% of value) into the purchase of new toys.

Our contribution to the Christmas Appeal has meant that the “Plant and Hire Aid Alliance’s” total donations raised equates to 4 fully loaded artic lorries full of 64 pallets of toys, 15 containers of clothing as well as other various goods

The toys will be departing from Ipswich to travel across Europe to Kosice, Eastern Slovakia. From here the presents will be distributed to children and others affected by the war across Ukraine with the support of Rotary International and local volunteers.
