GTAccess launches GTAccess Robotics to accelerate construction automation across the UK

A landmark partnership set to transform how construction robotics are deployed across the UK.

CSC Robotic Engineering Limited and GTAccess Ltd announce a strategic partnership that marks a significant milestone in the adoption of construction robotics across the UK. Under the agreement, GTAccess becomes CSC's official UK distribution partner for robotic sales and rental, operating as GTAccess Robotics Ltd, creating the country's first dedicated nationwide ecosystem for the supply, deployment and support of advanced construction robotics.

More than a distribution agreement, the partnership fundamentally changes how contractors can adopt robotic technology. Until now, introducing construction robotics has often involved lengthy procurement processes, specialist logistics and significant capital investment. Through GTAccess Robotics, contractors can now access, deploy and support construction robotics in days rather than months through a single nationwide provider.

What is the new scissor lift robotic attachment?

The new system combines the CSC Robotics Drillcorpio D3 with a Skyjack SJ3220 scissor lift to create a fully mobile robotic drilling and anchor installation solution. It has been developed to automate repetitive wall and ceiling drilling tasks while providing accurate, repeatable results. The integrated access platform allows operators to safely position the robot at height, making it ideal for large-scale construction and infrastructure projects. We have been working with CRC for the past 12 month to get the nessarry approvals all of which are now in place.

What does it do, and what are the benefits?

The system automates drilling and anchor installation, delivering consistent hole quality while reducing the physical demands placed on operatives. Key benefits include improved productivity, repeatable accuracy, enhanced health and safety, integrated dust extraction, reduced operator fatigue and the ability to redeploy skilled workers to higher-value tasks. It also provides customers with a practical way to introduce automation into existing construction processes.

It Drills holes! 6mm to 20mm currently to a depth of up to 1m, With an accuracy of 3mm (human is 5mm). It will then set the anchor for whatever is been installed so it can simply be bolted in place. There are millions of holes required to be drilled every day and a human can only drill for 45 minutes per day in 15 minutes maxium in one session. There the robotic solution replace 10 workers during a 8 hour working day with more accuracy and a full report and pictures for every hole drilled.

What other robotic attachments are available or planned?

The drilling robot is the first solution available through GTAccess Robotics. Through our partnership with CSC Robotics, we will also introduce additional robotic solutions as they are developed, allowing us to build a comprehensive portfolio of construction automation equipment for the UK market.

We are currently working on another robot that will drill larger diameter holes which should be available early 2027. The development has been done for drilling as currently it is expensive and this gives the biggest win, however going forward it is easy to adopt the robot to do other tasks such as painting, once there price point come down.

How many will you add to the fleet?

We are investing in an initial fleet that will support demonstrations, customer projects and hire demand. Our intention is to expand the fleet as customer adoption grows, ensuring we can continue to meet demand across the UK.

We have ordered 5 units so far, (2 currently in the fleet) however we fully expect to rapidly expand as demand grows. We currently have a lot interest across construction sector which would require the fleet increasing to 38 units! We fully expect to have over 100 units in the uk in the next couple of years.

Are they available for rental or purchase?

Yes. The robotic systems will be available for both hire and purchase exclusively in the UK through GTAccess Robotics. Alongside this, we can provide demonstrations, operator training, technical support, servicing and ongoing engineering support to ensure customers can successfully adopt the technology.

The new nationwide offering combines:

  •  Robotic equipment sales and weekly rental
  •  National logistics and rapid deployment
  •  Specialist engineering support
  •  Operator training and certification
  •  Ongoing servicing and technical assistance

Rather than simply supplying robotic equipment, GTAccess Robotics provides a complete deployment ecosystem, from rental and logistics to engineering support, operator training and operator training certification, enabling contractors to integrate robotics into live projects quickly and with confidence.

The partnership brings together CSC Robotic Engineering's industry-leading construction robotics with GTAccess' established nationwide infrastructure, engineering expertise and reputation within the powered access sector, creating a complete support network for customers from initial enquiry through to on-site operation.

What is the current state of the robotics market?

Construction robotics is still an emerging market in the UK, with relatively few companies offering complete automation solutions backed by specialist support. As labour shortages, productivity demands and health and safety expectations continue to increase, we are seeing growing interest in practical robotic solutions that can be integrated into day-to-day construction activities.

Other companies are launching products across the world but we believe our solution is the most advanced requiring less human intervention and input and this will progress further in a short space of time.

How do you see robotics developing in the future?

We believe robotics will become an increasingly common part of the construction industry over the coming years. As the technology continues to prove itself on site, contractors will increasingly adopt automation to improve safety, consistency and productivity. We see robotics following a similar path to powered access—initially adopted by forward-thinking businesses before becoming a standard part of the industry's toolkit. Our aim is to support that transition by providing not only the equipment, but also the training, hire, engineering support and expertise needed for customers to adopt robotics with confidence.

We are looking at mounting the robot on other Skyjack scissors and are in consultation with another manufacture to mount the robot in a boom lift.

Further developments will be in the integration between the MEWP and the Robot enabling driving the machine from the robot controls and in the future it may be possible to do it all autonomously.

Training - We have developed an operator training course to ensure the safe use of the robot and MEWP on site and are currently waiting on CITB to approve it for grant funding.

We are very excited about where this is going to go!!

Leadership & Commentary

GTAR will be lead by Jonathan Till’s son Lewis Till now the 3rd Generation to head up a GT Business.

Lewis Commented:

“I am very proud to be leading the way into robotics and see this as a key growth area which will help keep the group of companies at the top of the game”

Jonathan Till, Managing Director of GTAccess Ltd, said:

"This is a significant move for the powered access and robotics industry and we are pioneering the way forward just as I did when we moved into powered access some 38 years ago."

Charles Elton, Director, UK & Europe, CSC Robotic Engineering Limited, added:

"This isn't simply about appointing a distributor. We're building the infrastructure needed to accelerate robotic adoption across the UK construction industry. Contractors can now access world-class robotic technology through an established nationwide partner, supported by the expertise, training and service required to deploy it successfully. Together we're enabling customers to move from initial enquiry to live project deployment in days, not months."

The partnership also lays the foundations for a broader construction robotics ecosystem, with live demonstrations, customer networking events and the introduction of additional robotic applications planned over the coming months.

As the construction industry continues to tackle labour shortages, productivity challenges and increasing demands for quality and safety, GTAccess Robotics and CSC Robotic Engineering are committed to making automation a practical, scalable and commercially viable solution for contractors across the UK.
