GTAccess Takes UKs First 15m Hinowa Booms

GTAccess has added the first new 15m Hinowa tracked booms in the UK to its growing hire fleet.

The leading independent powered access specialist is the first British owner of Hinowa Lightlift 15.70s, which are replacing some older Hinowa 14m tracked booms. The machines were supplied by APS, the exclusive UK distributor for Hinowa machines.

GTAccess now offers 15m, 17m, 20m and 26m Hinowa crawler-mounted access platforms, in order to meet growing demand from a wide range of clients. Customers include painters and decorators, atrium workers, contract cleaners and construction firms, as well as tree surgeons.

Steve Moody, Sales Manager for GTAccess, said: “We are proud to be the first UK hire company to offer its clients the new Hinowa 15.70. This investment is part of our continued expansion into specialist access platforms. With a Hinowa fleet providing maximum working heights from 15m to 26m, we are able to fulfil most requirements from our customer base.

“A popular destination for these machines is places such as shopping centres, churches, atrium areas where floor loadings are an issue. Being on large rubber tracks, the point loadings generated by these machines are dramatically lower than conventional wheeled machines, so the risk of damaging sensitive surfaces is greatly reduced.”

The fourth model in Hinowa’s Lightlift Performance IIIS range, the 15.70 has compact dimensions and a superb working envelope. When working flush to a wall, it can still provide outreach of 6.6m when elevated to 10m. The machine can lift 230kg – enough for two people with tools – without restriction throughout its entire working envelope. Platform rotation is offered as standard.

Mounted on a crawler chassis, the LightLift 15.70 has very low ground pressure and non-marking tracks, making it ideal for working indoors on sensitive flooring; as well as outdoors on soft ground. It has a compact stabiliser footprint and the drive train has a three-speed system which ensures it reaches the work area quickly.

Steve added: “We really like the user-friendly controls on the Lightlift Performance IIIS series and control system is also more robust than on the older Hinowa models. So investing in the 15.70s also ensures that we have a common control system across our Hinowa fleet.”
