Apprenticeship

05 March 2020

On Wednesday 4th March GTAccess attended the Worcestershire Skills Show at the Chateau Impney Hotel in Droitwich. The show which is organised by Worcestershire County Council is an annual event supported by companies across the region.

This years Worcestershire Skills Show proved to be the largest yet with over 6000 young people from all over Worcestershire attending on the day. While at the show they were given the opportunity to gain an understanding of the career pathways available to them and to find out about the skills and qualifications that employers are really looking for.

There was something to suit all interests, and young people were encouraged to undertake a variety of have a go activities to demonstrate the different roles available across a large variety of industries. On the GTAccess stand students were given the chance to have a go at the ‘Harness Challenge’ – a timed challenge to successfully put on a safety harness with the occasional prompt as to which way up it went.

As well as the have a go challenge GTAccess gave the students an insight in to the apprenticeship opportunities that are available within the company and wider industry. Students were Informed how they would learn practical skills combined with classroom studies to gain industry recognised qualifications that would prepare them for the future.

Justin Kite, Marketing Manager at GTAccess commented: “As a successful company, GTAccess offers excellent career opportunities for young people with the right combination of ability and drive. A high percentage of our apprentices go on to join our team and build long-term careers with GTAccess.”
