IPAF MEWP Operator Renewal TRAINING COURSE now available using Virtual Reality MEWP simulator

Blog

16 February 2022

GTAccess is pleased to announce our IPAF MEWP Operator RENEWAL Training Course, both practical modules and test can be done using a Virtual Reality MEWP simulator (VR sim).

This course is only for those individuals who have an in-date PAL Card due for renewal for IPAF MEWP Operator training and who have sufficient experience. The advantage to candidates includes a shorter training time. This course is available at all of our training centres.

This course provides recertification training for experienced IPAF MEWP Operators through the use of Virtual Reality (VR) simulations to refresh their knowledge in a range of situations and environments.

Stewart Flood, Transport Manager commented “This course will help those candidates who have a good deal of prior time using real machines, speeding up time spent doing the course whilst receiving a fully immersive and realistic experience within a risk-free and controlled environment”

This RENEWAL training course will instruct and refresh an operator to prepare and safely operate various types of MEWPs, also referred to as cherry pickers, aerial lifts, or scissor lifts. Categories include Mobile Vertical (3a) and Mobile Boom (3b).

Our IPAF Training Centres offer fully certified training for people working with MEWP accredited by IPAF. Upon completion candidate will receive an IPAF PAL Card and Training Certificate, valid for 5 years and internationally recognized as a license to operate Powered Access equipment. This will not differ in any way from those who have been trained and assessed using real machines.

Alternatively, we do offer an eLearning version of the IPAF MEWPs for Managers course using a new generation of learning tools providing immersive 360-degree videos, enhanced interactive graphics, and virtual scenarios. Candidates have complete flexibility to undertake and pass the online sections at a time and place of their choosing. It uses sophisticated facial recognition across the online training and evaluation session to ensure the candidate’s identity and to prevent any attempt to obtain the qualification through fraudulent means.

Keep an eye on our socials and website for any updates on the development of Static Boom (1b) Virtual Reality MEWP simulator.
