Whether you are installing a new cladding/roof or carrying out a roof survey on a dangerous or inaccessible property, the best way to inspect it safely and thoroughly is through the use of a mobile elevated work platform (MEWP).

MEWPs such as scissor lift, boom or vehicle-mounted platforms are the best option for helping prevent a fall from occurring when working at height.

It is always important to ensure that before the commencement of any work a risk assessment is carried out and that the work is suitably and sufficiently planned and managed. A site survey/assessment will need to be undertaken before work starts. RISK ASSESSMENT

Before any Roofing or Cladding operations commence, it is important to assess the following:

1. Is there adequate space available for the operation and/or machinery?
2. Are the ground conditions and topography suitable/stable?
3. Is there adequate safe working distances from overhead services?
4. Is the site access available/unrestricted?
5. Are the wind speed, exposure and weather conditions suitable for use?
6. Are the operatives adequately trained and proficient to undertake the tasks required?
