COMBINATION COURSE

 

This full day combination course will cover how to select, inspect and safely use a Harness as well as covering the Safe usage, storing, handling and transport of Abrasive Wheels.

 

IPAF HARNESS SAFETY 
Anyone who operates a boom type mobile elevating work platform (3b) and is therefore required to wear a safety harness as part of their work should complete the IPAF Harness Safety Course.

COURSE CONTENT

  • Health and safety law and regulations

  • Working at height regulations

  • Different harness types and how to wear them

  • Different types of lanyards and uses

  • Inspection by whom and when

  • Safe use

  • Practical session

  • Rescue plan

  • Donning doffing

  • Practical session on identifying defective harnesses

  • Identifying equipment need to perform task safely

 

SAFE USE OF ABRASIVE WHEELS
Reduce the risk of accidents in the workplace caused by abrasive wheel injuries by learning how to Label, Store, Handle and Transport Abrasive Wheels together with sound mounting techniques. Also includes references to diamond wheels.

  • Duties of Employers and Employees

  • Purpose of the Regulations

  • Mounting Wheels Correctly

  • Abrasive wheels DVD followed by discussion

  • Personal Protection Equipment(PPE)

  • Safe Use of Work Equipment

  • Safe Use of Diamond Wheels

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The course is ideal for those who use Abrasive Wheels and who use safety harnesses and lanyards in the course of their work. Anyone who operates a boom type mobile elevating work platform (3b) should receive training on the safe use of a harness.

Course Registration: 7:45am
Course Start Time: 8:00am
Course Finish Time:§ 4:30pm

§Finish time is approximate and may be longer dependent on competency of delegates.

 

CITB GRANT FUNDING
This course qualifies for Tier 1 CITB Grant funding of £30. GTAccess is a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and as such our customers are able to claim grants when completing certain courses. CERTIFICATION
All candidates who successfully complete the course will receive an IPAF certificate and a Certificate of Attendance and/or NPORS photocard ID/Certificate.

REQUIREMENTS
You will need to bring with you a valid double point harness and adjustable lanyard.

REFRESHMENTS
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day on all courses at all of our training centres.  Please note that lunch is not provided.

CANCELATION POLICY
Courses cancelled less than 7 days prior to the course date but exceeding 48 working hours will incur a 50% charge. Courses cancelled less than 48 working hours before the course date will incur full payment. GT Access Ltd, reserves the right to cancel a training course at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Should a course be cancelled alternative dates will be offered or a full refund given.
