Covers what managers need to know about using MEWPs on site, from planning and risk assessment, to selecting the right equipment.

Covers what managers need to know about using MEWPs (mobile elevating work platforms) on site, from planning the job andcompleting a risk assessment, to selecting the right equipment. The course includes topics such as health and safety regulations, accident prevention and control, personal protection equipment, and pre-use checks and maintenance.

Under UK health and safety legislation employers must train all employees who plan, supervise and manage work at height and the use of equipment for such work.

  • Machine classification andtypes of machines

  • History of MEWPs

  • Suitability of machine to task

  • Health and safety at work act 1997 employer/employee responsibilities

  • Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations

  • Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations

  • Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations

  • Personnel Protective Equipment(PPE) at Work Regulations

  • Work at Height Regulations

  • Safe use and delivery of MEWPS

  

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
The course is targeted at project managers, foremen and supervisors. Anyone who is responsible for planning and overseeing the use of MEWPs on their job site.

CITB GRANT FUNDING
This course qualifies for Tier 2 CITB Grant funding of £70. GTAccess is a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO) and as such our customers are able to claim grants when completing certain courses. CERTIFICATION
All candidates who successfully complete the course will receivean IPAF certificate. The MEWPs for Managers (MM) category can also be added to a PAL Card for those that hold one.

REFRESHMENTS
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day on all courses at all of our training centres.  Please note that lunch is not provided.

CANCELATION POLICY
Courses cancelled less than 7 days prior to the course date but exceeding 48 working hours will incur a 50% charge. Courses cancelled less than 48 working hours before the course date will incur full payment. GT Access Ltd, reserves the right to cancel a training course at any time due to unforeseen circumstances. Should a course be cancelled alternative dates will be offered or a full refund given.
