Steps and Ladders

Learn how to safely use and select the correct type of ladders and step ladders and comply with the Work at Height regulations 2005.

 

This course will help to strengthen the necessary skills and knowledge needed to use ladders and step ladders safely. Delegates will learn how to correctly assess and determine when it is appropriate to use a ladder or step ladder, how to do so safely and how to visually inspect ladders and step ladders for damage.

Delegates will also be taught what they need to know about the law, regulations and standards relating to the use of ladders and stepladders, hazards in the use of ladders and stepladders, Storage and handling of ladders and stepladders.

  • Planning, selecting and using ladders and stepladders

  • How to assess the risks

  • Storage, handling, inspection and maintenance of Ladders and stepladders

  • How to correctly locate and safely use ladders and stepladders

  • Legislation and regulations affecting work at height

  • Product standards andclassifications for laddersand stepladders

  • Hazards affecting the use of ladders and stepladders.

 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Anybody who is required to workin an elevated position (off the ground) is deemed to be working at height.

COURSE INFORMATION

Course Duration: Half Day
Maximum Class Size:* 10 Delegates
Course Registration: 7:45am
Course Start Time: 8:00am
Course Finish Time: 12:30pm

Delegates must arrive 15 minutes prior to course start time for registration.
*Maximum class size may be lower at certain training centre locations.

 

CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course candidates will be issued with an accreditied certificate, which is valid for 5 years.

REFRESHMENTS
Tea and coffee will be provided throughout the day on all courses at all of our training centres.  Please note that lunch is not provided.

CANCELATION POLICY
Courses cancelled less than 7 days prior to the start date but exceeding 48 working hours will incur a 50% charge. Courses cancelled less than 48 working hours before the course date will incur full payment. GT Access Ltd, reserve the right to cancel and rearrange a course should any other delegates on the same course cancel their booking.

12 ACCREDITED TRAINING CENTRES


With over 30 years of experience with access equipment, we are able to offer a huge range of accredited IPAF, PASMA, and Workplace Health & Safety related training courses. We have 12 accredited training centres covering the West Midlands and south Wales.





IPAF Training

We offer a full range of IPAF courses including, Operator training, Harness Safety training, MEWP's for Managers and IPAF Demonstrator and Load/Unload. Our IPAF Operator courses are run 5 days a week (including some weekends) across all 12 of our training centres. Trainees will be issued with a PAL card upon completion that is valid for 5 years.

PASMA TRAINING

We run a full range of PASMA courses including a half day Working at Height Essentials course which enables individuals to comply with their duties under the work at Height Regulations 2005. A half day Low Level Towers course and a full day Towers for Users course that instructs how to safely assemble, dismantle, move and alter a mobile access tower.

WORKPLACE HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING

We also offer offer a range of Workplace Health and Safety training courses including a full day and 3 day Emergency First Aid at Work. A half day Abrasive wheels course that allows you to comply with the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER). And a half day Ladders and Steps Safety course.
