Diesel scissor lifts are powered access platforms that are commonly used in construction projects. The scissor-like mechanism is powered by a diesel engine and controlled either by an operator, who can raise and lower the platform either remotely or standing on it. A safer option for working at height than some other access platforms, thanks to their sturdy base, they are also able to operate in much smaller and more constrained spaces with a very compact turning circle. Able to operate all day on a single tank of fuel, they are more durable than their electric counterparts and are therefore much better suited to rougher construction sites outdoors where their emissions are less of an issue.
